A Cheat Sheet on Watching TV Shows
Table of Contents
Do you ever wish you had a cheat sheet on how best to watch your favorite TV show? If so, you’re in luck! From binge-watching classics like Mad Men and The Sopranos to new favorites like House of Cards and Breaking Bad, Netflix has a whole suite of helpful features that make watching TV shows easier than ever. Here are just a few tips for getting the most out of your subscription with Netflix.
Netflix has a lot of great features that make it easier for you to find what you want and get your binge on. Here are some tips and tricks you can use to maximize your Netflix experience.
1. Search for something you want by typing in a word or two into the search bar at the top of every page on Netflix. You’ll get a list of movies, TV shows, and documentaries that match what you’re looking for. 2. Add tags (descriptive words) so Netflix knows more about what you like so they can recommend new stuff to watch. For example, if I’m looking for action films with fast cars, I would type action and fast cars as tags.
If you know you won’t have access to your account for a period of time (ie. travelling or hospitalised), you can organise your bookmarks into categories so that they are easy to find when you need them. Just go into your My List and then choose the category from the dropdown menu at the top of each list item. This way, when you’re looking for something in particular, it’ll be easier to find without having to scroll through everything on your list.
Categorising Movies/TV Shows in Different Ways
Perhaps one of Netflix’s most underutilized features is categorizing your content in different ways. You can search for movies based on genres, ratings, release dates, and even directors. This can make it much easier to find something you want to watch without scrolling through endless pages of titles. For example, if you are looking for a comedy movie, just type Comedy in the genre category and scroll through until you find what interests you.
Finding Similar Movies/TV Shows from What You Liked Before
You know that feeling when you’re in the mood for something but can’t figure out what it is? Netflix has your back with its hidden feature that lets you find movies and TV shows similar to what you liked before. It’s like having your own personal Netflix expert, who knows exactly what kind of entertainment you need. And because this new feature uses algorithms and computer science, it is way more accurate than someone trying to guess what you want. All you have to do is click on Show me a list of titles related to my movie/show or I’m feeling very type-in-genre right now.
Discovering New Titles by Using Suggestions
One way you can make sure that you are getting your money’s worth is by using Netflix’s suggestions. These are located in the top right corner of your screen and they will provide you with a list of titles that are similar to what you have been watching. This not only helps you find something new, but it also helps Netflix figure out which recommendations would be most helpful for other users. For example, if you have seen movies starring Ryan Reynolds and Scarlett Johansson, Netflix might show you other movies starring those actors. The more time you spend on Netflix browsing different genres or following directors or actors, the better these suggestions become at making sure that your next click brings you exactly what you want to watch.
Streamlining Search with the Search Options at Top of Screen
Start your search by choosing an option from the top bar. These options will narrow down your search and help you find what you’re looking for faster than going through all of Netflix’s content. For example, if you want to watch a movie with Ben Stiller, click Movies then click Ben Stiller. It should be clear that this is an old post.
