The Gmail team has announced that they will be rolling out an update in the coming weeks that will automatically add tracking information directly into your emails, making it easier than ever to monitor the progress of your deliveries online and on your phone. How to Enable Package Tracking in Gmail

It’s easy to enable package tracking in Gmail. Follow the steps below:
1. Click on the settings gear in the top right corner and select Settings. 2. Click on Accounts and Import from the left-hand column and then click on Send mail as. 3. Select Add another email address you own from the menu that pops up and enter your other email address (this is where you will receive notifications from Gmail when a delivery has been made). 4. Check off Receive mail as for this address, which will allow you to receive messages sent using this address, including notifications about deliveries being made by Google. 5.
What Data is Tracked?
Gmail will track when your package is delivered and even let you know when the shipment has been delivered. It’s a great way to have all your mail in one place, but it also makes it easier for you to keep up with your packages.
To track a package, simply click on the envelope icon which will appear at the top of your inbox. From there, select Track Package from the drop-down menu that appears and enter an email address or a tracking number if you have it available. For instance, I had recently ordered a new laptop online and wanted to make sure I was notified as soon as it arrived. When I went into my account settings and clicked Track Package I was able to input my shipping information so Gmail would notify me once my laptop had arrived! The delivery confirmation email also came through as soon as the package had been delivered, so I knew exactly when to go outside and pick up my laptop from the courier who dropped it off.
When you get a notification that your package has shipped you can access Google Keep by clicking on the Keep notepad icon next to the attachment paperclip.

It’s important to note that this new feature is only available for people who have signed up for tracking notifications from these carriers – it won’t automatically show up for all your emails.
How to Use It
This new feature is pretty easy to use. To activate it, head over to the Settings page in your Gmail account and find the Packages tab under In the mail. From there, you’ll need to enter your email address, phone number, and tracking numbers for each package you want Google to track. Once that’s all set up, Google will show a notification when a new package is delivered or if an expected delivery date changes. The best part is that these notifications are automatically synced across any device where you’re signed into your account.
